چکیده

Fungal pathogens are the main biotic burden of productivity for economically important crops under field, greenhouse or postharvest conditions. The discovery and development new environmental-friendly solutions, such as application living organisms their derivatives to control plant diseases pests, enormous interest. This study presents results a mass screening designed detect yeast strains with antagonistic activity against (Alternaria alternata, Penicillium expansum Botrytis cinerea) soil-borne (Verticillium dahliae Fusarium oxysporum). In fact, this is first that focuses on potential wide variety genera (13) species (30) vascular wilts. from in vivo trials demonstrated fungal infected tomato plants, grown hydroponic soil conditions, showed significant reduction disease severity after treatment. Wickerhamomyces anomalus Wa-32 was able antagonise both reduce up 40% (V. dahliae) 50% (F. oxysporum) addition, strain became endophytic plants. features interest since no effective biocontrol product available simultaneous these two pathogens. Postharvest assays wounded fruits several displayed very high levels P. B. cinerea (up 86 97% severity, respectively) but none them protection A. alternata. best again achieved W. Metschnikowia pulcherrima (Mp-22 Mp-30). However, were Candida lusitaniae Cl-28, oleophila Co-13, Debaryomyces hansenii Dh-67 Hypopichia pseudoburtonii Hp-54. These effects also grapes apples.

Interactions Between Myxobacteria, Plant Pathogenic Fungi, and Biocontrol Agents

Myxobacteria are gram-negative, unicellular bacteria with rod-shaped vegetative cells. They are unique among prokaryotes for using intercellular communication to engage in cooperative morphogenesis from which they produce fruiting bodies bearing resistant myxospores (5). Thick-walled myxospores are responsible for the survival of myxobacteria under unfavorable conditions such as desiccation, hi...

Chemical Control of Nematodes and Soil-borne Plant-Pathogenic Fungi on Cabbage Tranplants.

Six general-purpose fumigants and one fungicide were applied by different methods and evaluated for control of nematode-fungus complexes on cabbage grown for transplant production. All chemicals reduced populations of nematodes and soil-borne fungi but varied greatly in effectiveness. Methyl bromide + chloropicrin (98% methyl bromide + 2% chloropicrin) (MBR-CP gas), DD + methyl isothiocyanate (...

IN VITRO ANTAGONISTIC EFFECTS OF TRICHODERMA SPP. ON SEVERAL SOILBORNE PLANT PATHOGENIC FUNGI

In vitro studies with Trichoderma spp., soil-borne fungal antagonists, demonstrated that a number of isolates produced volatile and non-volatile metabolites capable of inhibiting the growth and sporulation of several soil-borne plant pathogenic fungi. Microscopic observations showed that T. harzianm and T. viride, isolated from soil samples from Ahwaz and Karaj, adversely affected the myce...

Biocontrol strategy, Compost, Soil-borne pathogens management

The effect of different compost-soil ratios on the incidence of Pythium aphanidermatum causing tomato damping off was tested in a greenhouse experiment. The inoculum density of 5% was determined to be suitable for inoculation in compost experiments based on investigations of disease incidence with 5, 10 and 20% inoculum densities. To evaluate the effect of compost on incidence of tomato damping...

Rhizobia as a biological control agent against soil borne plant pathogenic fungi.

Rhizobia promote the growth of plants either directly through N2 fixation, supply of nutrients, synthesis of phytohormones and solubilization of minerals, or indirectly as a biocontrol agent by inhibiting the growth of pathogens. The biocontrol effect of rhizobia is due to the secretion of secondary metabolites such as antibiotics and HCN. Siderophore production in iron stress conditions provid...
